Dogs Act leads the way!

Any dog can be dangerous and responsible ownership, not specific breeds of dog, should be the focus of laws to prevent attack.

That's the principle behind the Isle of Man's Dogs Act, which has recently been amended.

In the United Kingdom certain breeds of dog have been categorised as dangerous.

But that's not the case here, with Manx legislation making it plain all dogs have the potential to be dangerous with owners responsible for preventing attacks.

Public Health Unit manager at DoLGE, John Howie, says the Island is leading the way in its approach (audio file attached):
