Grandstand start for fund raiser

by isleofman.com 21st September 2007
The 15th annual Shoprite Cycle for Life will take place on Sunday morning.

A fun family cycle along Douglas promenade and a seven-leg relay around the TT course will be run simultaneously, with proceeds divided between the Island's hyperbaric chamber and the Manx Netball Association.

One of the organisers, Mike O’Hare, says the event has grown from strength to strength (audio file attached):

The relay around the TT course starts at the grandstand, with the first group due to get away at 9am.

The family fun cycle starts at 9.30 for 10am, and will take participants from the Sea Terminal to the Villa Marina and back, with the option for older children to cover the whole length of the promenade.

Anyone interested in taking part in the fun cycle, can still register at the Sea Terminal at 9.30 on Sunday morning.
