Minister visits Sellafield

Representatives from the Department of Local Government and the Environment have just returned from important trip to the Sellafield nuclear complex.

The aim of the visit was primarily to give DoLGE Minister John Shimmin and the Department's political members an extensive look at the site.

Government Advisor on Nuclear Issues, Doctor Paul McKenna was part of the visiting party.

He says it's vital the Department has first hand knowledge of what's going on at Sellafield, so it can fully contribute to the discussions on its demolition:
