Manx DNA database?

The Isle of Man Constabulary's DNA expert believes the public WOULD support a national database.

Detective Sergeant, Grahame Bell, heads up the Scientific Support Department at Police Headquarters, and oversees the collection of routine samples from crime scenes, which are then sent to England and placed on the database.

However, unlike in England, data sent from the Isle of Man is removed if the suspect is found not guilty of a crime.

Responding to a call from a senior UK judge that the current system is biased against ethnic minorities, DS Bell says people shouldn't be fearful of an expansion of the database:
