Yacht aground at Gansey

Port St Mary lifeboat and Castletown Coastguard Rescue Team were called out last night to go to the aid of a vessel which had run aground.

The 42 foot yacht with a crew of two was on rocks at Gansey Point.

The call-out from Liverpool Coastguard came at 9.30pm and both the Inshore Lifeboat and All Weather Boat were launched

Operations Manager for Port St Mary Lifeboat Station, Alex Maddrell, says it was a tricky situation do deal with, but both the crew and the boat were rescued:
