Beach clean a success

A beach clean held at Castletown over the weekend has been hailed a success by its organisers.

Members of the Marine Conservation Society and volunteers spent Saturday and Sunday clearing and cataloguing rubbish from a stretch near Hango Hill.

The MCS's Dru Leoidsson (pictured) says they filled 56 black bags, a wheelie bin and also removed nine tyres from the beach.

Dru says the majority of items found are certainly being dumped out at sea:
