Award for CRUSE

by isleofman.com 14th September 2007

CRUSE Bereavement care has received a Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

The support group was established in the Isle of Man 18 years ago and is run by 45 volunteers.

They provide counselling at clients' homes or in the office and, as a result of a £6,000 Children in Need grant, are now running awareness courses in Manx secondary schools.

Administrator, Lorna Trevethan, says they are kept very busy (audio file attached):

Nominations are still being sought for the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service for next year. Visit queensawardvoluntary.gov.uk for more information.
