DTL targets winter visitors

There are hopes the Island's tourist industry will benefit from a presence at a number of high profile events in England this winter.

The department of tourism and leisure launched its promotional campaign at the recent Southport Flower Show, where an eye catching garden display, representing aspects of the Island's landscape, was on view.

The DTL will also have exhibitions at the BBC's Good Food Show in November, and the Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show in March.

Department spokesman Dave Fallows hopes tourists will be attracted to the Island during the quieter winter months:
