Cronk y Voddy show

by isleofman.com 13th September 2007
A rural highlight of the Manx Autumn takes place today (Thurs).

The Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Society Produce show will be held in the grand marquee at Moaney Moar farm.

The event - which features over one hundred classes for everything from Bonnag and Parsnips and to photography and crochet, taking in 'heaviest turnip' and 'pickled cabbage' along the way - will be opened by Mrs Marilyn Cannell at 3pm

The show also features the now legendary 'big spud' competition and at 7pm there's traditional lanket and Suggane (thumb rope) making.

The prize presentation is at 8 o'clock this evening and all the produce will then be sold off by auctioneer Peter Quayle.

Proceeds from the event will go to the charity Oskar's Dreams.

(Entries still accepted from 9.30 - 11.30am at Moaney Moar)
