Senior could have been run

An experienced marshal says the decision to cancel the Senior Manx Grand Prix could have been avoided.

The weather put pay to the 'blue riband' event of the meeting last Friday and, while Saturday had been set aside as normal as a reserve day, organisers made it clear there wouldn't be enough marshals available for racing to go ahead.

It was the first time a Manx Grand Prix race had ever been cancelled since the racing began in 1923.

Deputy sector marshal at the 32nd milestone, Andy Scullard (pictured), believes that decision was made prematurely and marshals are receiving unfair criticism as a result:
