Training for food handlers

Modern food safety measures involve regulating and monitoring every step in the food chain, according the the Isle of Man food safety manager.

Ivan Bratty, whose unit operates from within the Department of Local Government and the Environment, says that new regulations mean that all staff involved in food handling now need to have some training.

Mr Bratty (pictured) was telling Manx Radio about the work of his team of inspectors, based at the Meat Plant, but says his remit is more wide-ranging than merely looking at food production:
