Founder passes away

One of the founders of the Island’s Hospice has died.

Peter Vickers passed away on Tuesday following a long illness.

A former branch manager of Barclays Bank in Onchan, he was one of six members who set up Hospice in 1983 and was Hospice Administrator for 13 years.

A service to celebrate his life will take place in the Royal Chapel of St John at 2.30pm a week today (September 6).
