Armed police were called out in Douglas yesterday (Wed) after a member of the public reported seeing a man carrying a firearm.
He was spotted in the Circular Road area of Douglas.
Firearms officers attended the scene and the man was arrested, and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Circular Road was closed while police dealt with the incident which happened just after 7pm
Officers are stressing that members of the public were not at risk.
