Archallagan meeting tonight

by isleofman.com 30th August 2007
The proposed landfill at Archallagan will be discussed at a public meeting this evening (Wednesday).

Glenfaba MHK David Anderson (pictured) has arranged the meeting, which starts at 7.30pm at Foxdale School.

Pressure group A.S.A.P oppose the proposed site, which would take bottom ash from the incinerator, citing the amount of rainfall at the site, the area's lack of infrastructure for such a development and the cost as major reasons.

It’s also concerned that, since the initial application for the site was submitted in 2002, options have increased to include recycling and disposal of the hazardous waste being submitted by the private sector, which are already on brownfield sites.
