DHSS defends fluoridation proposal

The DHSS' Public Health Consultant has once again strongly defended the potential addition of fluoride to the Island's water supply.

Dr Paul Emerson says the practice is perfectly safe and will greatly improve the state of people's teeth, especially among the young.

Last week, anti-fluoridation campaigners Douglas Cross and Liz Vaughan told Manx Radio adding the substance was dangerous, citing fluorosis, or browning of the teeth, as an example.

But Dr Emerson says this isn't true:
