Marshals concern for MGP

by isleofman.com 10th August 2007
Chief Marshal Roger Hurst says he’ll comment on fears people will be put of volunteering at this year’s Manx Grand Prix.

He’s worried people may not sign up to marshal the event following the police manslaughter investigation into the fatal crash at the 26th milestone during the Senior TT.

Police now say, following discussions with the Attorney General, no criminal charges for manslaughter will be brought.

An investigation for the Coroner of Inquests will continue, and the Island’s health and safety inspectorate are looking into the incident.

Racing team boss Martin Bullock says it's time marshals heard from race officials (audio file attached):

Mr Hurst says he has to complete last-minute paperwork but will appear on Manx Radio as soon as possible.
