Horses escape renaming

by isleofman.com 7th August 2007
A row over the alleged unauthorised naming of tram horses has ended with the animals retaining the identities they had been given.

Two members of Douglas Corporation's Leisure Services Committee objected when they found out staff of the tramways department had come up with the names when, it was claimed, that was the committee's responsibility.

It was moved and seconded that the horses should be renamed by the committee, but the objectors lost out by five votes to two.

It means the suggestions of the tramways staff have been formally approved, and the horses will be saved any confusion!
