'Tell me what it was like' project

An exciting new Isle of Man project is gathering pace prior to launch in September.

'Tell me what it was like' is billed as an 'inter-generational project' which links schoolchildren with senior citizens - and the result should be a totally new archive of written, photographed and recorded recollections of times gone by.

A number of organisations are involved - including Manx Radio, Isle of Man Newspapers, Manx Telecom, the Department of Education, and Manx National Heritage. It's being sponsored by the Davidson Trust and Axa Isle of Man.

Organiser Penny Creighton from Age Concern says the older people will really enjoy getting involved:
