Complaints system - further review

As expected, there will be a further review of the Island’s police complaints system.

Earlier this month, Tynwald rejected proposals for a revised procedure after members indicated it wasn't sufficiently independent.

It followed a select committee’s report into the grievance of Castletown man Roy Redmayne, who petitioned the government when he felt his complaint against the Manx force hadn’t been properly handled..

The report recommended an independent body be set up to oversee the police.

Home Affairs Minister Martyn Quayle (pictured) is happy to look at the issue again, despite the small number of complaints:
