DHA takes over drug strategy

The Department of Home Affairs is to take over responsibility for the Chief Minister's Drug and Alcohol Strategy.

The initiative was approved by Tynwald in 2005, with the aim of protecting the community from the harm caused by drug and alcohol misuse.

There have been education campaigns and a significant increases in drug seizures.

The strategy will now be run from the DHA on Woodbourne Road in Douglas, instead of from the Chief Secretary's Office.

Chief Minister Tony Brown says it's important to have people working closely together on the various initiatives:
