Wet weather may have exposed shell

That's the verdict of emergency officers after an explosive device, thought to be a mortar shell from World War Two training, was blown up at the weekend.

It was possibly from Home Guard exercises. It is though heavy rain may have loosened the peat and exposed the weapon.

It follows a number of other similar discoveries, most notably that at Santon earlier this year.
