Mountain bike initiative launched

by isleofman.com 19th July 2007
A new mountain bike track is being built, and those in charge want to hear your opinions about it.

The Manx Mountain Bike Club and the Isle of Man government have mapped out a 1km test trail at South Barrule plantation which, if successful, will be expanded and replicated in other areas.

In the longer term the Department of Tourism and Leisure wants to market the Island as an adventure holiday destination.

MMBC member Gavin Callow hopes the new routes will build on the interest already shown by riders (audio file attached):

Feedback forms are available from the club's website, www.manxmtb.org, or you can go to www.visitisleofman.com for further information.
