Minister surprised by dismissal call

The Tourism Minister has reacted with surprise to calls for his immediate dismissal.

The Manx Electric Railway Society has accused Adrian Earnshaw of failing to back a conservation policy for the railway.

The Society is also dismayed at his apparent plan to dispose of ten vintage tram cars, currently stored at Homefield depot in Douglas, when the lease runs out in two years time.

It claims the minister did not know about the conservation policy, drawn-up by his predecessor, when they met him to discuss that very issue.

This afternoon Edward Oldham asked Mr Earnshaw (pictured) about the claim he wasn't backing the conseravtion policy:
