Pulrose incident

by isleofman.com 18th July 2007
A man remains in custody this morning after an incident in which he barricaded himself inside a house in Pulrose.

Police were called to Hazel Crescent at around 5pm yesterday (Mon) after members of the man's family became concerned for his welfare, as it was believed he had a folding pocket knife with him.

Police negotiators and a member of the man's family spoke to him for some time but he refused to leave the property. Officers eventually forced an entry into the building and the man was detained.

Inspector Sid Caine of the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team says at no time was there any danger to other members of the Pulrose community and he's thanked the man's mother and sister for their help in resolving what he calls a distressing situation.
