Minister wants Island Games, again

The Island Games could soon be coming back to the Isle of Man, if Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw gets his wish.

He says the event is a high-profile festival which now attracts more competitors that the winter Olympics.

And, after some organisational problems with this year’s games in Rhodes, he says it shows how well the Isle of Man coped with the last games hosted here.

He says the decision rests with the Island Games Association and future games are already booked for some years, but he would like to see them back in the Island as soon as possible:
