New markets for Manx meat

A recently launched project is aiming to break Manx meat into new markets.

It's jointly funded by Isle of Man Meat and the Department of Agriculture, and the first step will be to investigate how the product should be sold and marketed.

The initiative aims to build on steps already taken to introduce Manx produce to a wider audience, which include having stalls at United Kingdom food shows and being part of the Pure Produce Organisation.

Isle of Man Meat's Managing Director, Phil Teare, says it's also about getting Manx meat recognised as a high quality brand in other countries (audio file attached):
