MEA case should go ahead - LVP

The Liberal Vannin Party is demanding the government carries on with its case against the Manx Electricity Authority about its borrowings.

A judge was due to decide whether the ?120 million in loans was lawfu, but last week the case was abandoned after the MEA admitted they were unlawful.

Tynwald is due to debate the issue during today’s sitting but Mr Karran (pictured) says the case should still go ahead despite its cost to the taxpayer.

He claims abandoning the case is tantamount to a cover-up:
