More postal action scheduled

by isleofman.com 9th July 2007
Further industrial action is planned by Royal Mail workers in the UK at the end of the week.

It will be the second one-day action following unsuccessful pay negotiation talks between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union.

Isle of Man Post Office employees will again be not involved and local services will not be affected but postal services to and from the Island could be hit as a result.

The industrial action will come into effect from 7pm on Thursday and will last 24 hours.

Island customers posting mail to the UK next week are advised to post it as early in the week as possible, while those who have urgent items to send are recommended to consider using Parcelforce’s guaranteed next day services.

Customers with any queries can contact the Customer Services Team on 664664.
