Questions on amenity site

MHKs face a lengthy session of Tynwald when the Court meets for its final sitting tomorrow before the summer recess.

Almost 70 questions have been tabled, a bumper 44 of them for oral answer.

Among those for witten reply are two from the new MHK for Onchan, David Quirk, on the subject of waste.

Mr Quirk (pictured) wants to re-open the debate on how the Island manages its waste in the 21st century and he will suggest the Department of the Environment is failing to regulate the industry properly.

He will raise concerns about the Middle River Civic Amenity Site in Douglas, which is operated by five local authorities.

He fears it's open to abuse:
