Douglas 'run down'

The Leader of Douglas Council wants central government and the private sector to spend millions of pounds to improve the appearance of the main shopping area of the town.

A council endorsed study by the Douglas Development Partnership, which highlights where the improvements are needed, has been sent to government for consideration.

David Christian (pictured) says the main shopping area looks 'run down' and action is needed if the Island's capital is to keep pace with rival seaside destinations:
