O'Malley remanded

A 29 year old man allegedly involved in the importation of drugs worth hundreds of thousands of pounds has been further remanded in custody by the High Bailiff.

Martin O'Malley, care of the prison, is charged with being concerned with the importation of drugs, possessing drugs with intent to supply, concealing the proceeds of drug trafficking, making use of provoking behaviour, and disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.

Inspector Richard Power strongly opposed bail. He said the matter was extremely serious and the drugs which are alleged to have been involved are valued at ?200,000.

The bail application was refused by Mr Moyle.

O'Malley will appear again on July 24th when a committal is expected.
