Draft Strategic Plan

The Minister for Local Government and the Enviroment hopes to roll out all four of the proposed area development plans for the Island by 2011.

Next week Tynwald will be asked to approve what is likely to be the final version of the Draft Strategic Plan, and once that has been fully ratified work will start on the more detailed regional documents.

It's a new approach to planning control and John Shimmin (pictured) says the main aims are to encourage economic growth, protect the environment and ensure targets for building new homes are met:
