Flower festival ends on Saturday

by isleofman.com 5th July 2007
The Manx Heritage Flower Festival is enjoying a 'blooming' successful week, with crowds braving the less than ideal weather to see the floral displays.

The festival has attracted a wide range of visitors, with children taking part in a treasure hunt, and helpers have been on hand to provide light refreshments and afternoon teas.

Sixteen of the Island's churches are taking part in the event, creating imaginative displays on the abolition of slavery.

Festival Task Force member June Collister, of Onchan Methodist Church, says it's a very topical theme (audio file attached):

The Flower Festival runs until Saturday.
