Logan placed on probation

by isleofman.com 4th July 2007
An 18 year old man who admitted affray and criminal damage has been placed on probation by the High Bailiff for two years.

Craig Lee Logan of Upper Dukes Road, Douglas, was told it was a direct alternative to three months custody.

Logan punched a man, Charles Adams, in Granville Street during the evening of May 25th. He also hit the wing mirror of a parked car, smashing it.

Edward Oldham reports:

Logan told police that he was angry his friends were being dealt with by police in Castle Street and he was drunk at the time.

Mr Adams sustained swelling to his face, a black eye and severe bruising, but it was accepted by police inspector Richard Power (pictured) who was prosecuting that not all the injuries were caused by Logan. Another defendant already dealt with at a separate court had stamped on Mr Adam's face.

The defendant's advocate said Logan admitted to hitting Mr Adams several times and he admitted that he was aggressive and Mr Wood said he hoped if probation was imposed the defendant might be placed on an anger management course.

Mr Moyle told Logan he hoped he had learnt his lesson about mixing with the wrong set of people, and he warned him that the three month sentence would be imposed if there was any breach of the probation.
