New 'Chronicles' display

The finishing touches are being put to the Manx Museum's newest display, which will open to the public, appropriately, at 2pm on Tynwald Day.

It charts 1000 years of the Isle of Man's history from around the arrival of the Vikings and contains many artefacts discovered here, including tools, weapons, gravestones and crosses.

Dr Andrew Foxon, from Manx National Heritage, says it's fantastic they've secured the loan of the Chronicles of the Kings of Mann and the Isles from the British Library.

He says the 13th Century book, written by the monks of Rushen Abbey, provides a fascinating insight into Island life at the time:
