Flybe to go to Luton

by isleofman.com 3rd July 2007
Manx passengers will be flying to Luton again in the Autumn, after FlyBe announced it will be operating the route from the autumn.

It follows concerns expressed by Airport Director, Anne Reynolds, over the recent lack of an Isle of Man service into North London. She said she would be talking to the airlines.

Now Flybe has announced it will start a four times weekly schedule from the end of October. Tickets are already on sale .

The Transport Minister David Anderson has described the news as "wonderful".

Ms Reynolds, says "it is excellent news, not only for the Airport, but the people and businesses that have previously relied on the Luton route. Last year, almost 60,000 people used the service, which had grown by 76% over 2005, and Flybe has clearly recognised the great potential of its latest Isle of Man route.”

She hopes the frequency would be increased to a daily operation by spring 2008.
