Queen's Pier group 'hopeful'

A group calling for the restoration of a Ramsey landmark are looking to get more people fighting their cause with an upcoming event.

Friends of Ramsey Pier are holding what member Michele Tramontana (pictured) describes as a "memorial" tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon between two and five o' clock at the pier entrance.

Mr Tramontana says the group welcomes a Council of Ministers Working Group which has been set up to look into restoring the pier, but hopes it makes a decision sooner rather than later as potential costs will continue to mount.

And he believes the structure would still be a viable and relevant asset for the town, if the work goes ahead:
