Bug spreads through Island

by isleofman.com 25th June 2007
A bug which produces diarrhoea and sickness is being reported across much of the Island.

It appears to be a type of gastroenteritis, most probably caused by a virus.

It is very infectious, which means its travels through the air, and its believed about half of those who encounter it get ill. It lasts for about three days.

Official guidance is NOT to go to accident and emergency at the hospital as there is no specific treatment. The advice is stay at home and drink lots of fluids.
