Island Games a week away

by isleofman.com 22nd June 2007
We're now just a week away from the start of the Natwest Island Games in Rhodes.

Just over 200 competitors from archery, athletics, basketball, cycling, football, golf, judo, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis and triathlon will start leaving the Isle of Man destined for the Greek Island from Tuesday of next week.

Manx Radio will be providing extensive coverage of the event every day thanks to reporters Tim Glover and Chris Kinley.

Team Manager, Jill Gillings, has been in charge of organising the trip.

She says it's been an arduous task (audio file attached):

The opening ceremony for the twelfth Island games is next Saturday, June 30.
