DHSS explains homeless clean-up

A government department is countering a suggestion it was involved in a 'cosmetic exercise' to clear the Island's streets of homeless people for TT fortnight.

Earlier this week a regular user of the Broadway drop-in centre claimed there had been efforts to remove them from the streets, so they wouldn't be noticed

However, Social Services Duty Team Manager Mike Williamson says his department responded to a specific and urgent need:
