Mobile phone masts

by isleofman.com 20th June 2007
Mobile phone users now enjoy coverage from over 90 transmitter sites around the Island.

These are located on a mixture of masts, roof tops, buildings and lamp posts.

The information was provided by the Chairman of the Communications Committee, Martyn Quayle MHK, in an answer to a Tynwald question.

Cable and Wireless has 32 sites, Manx Telecom has 50 and Cloud 9 has nine.

To investigate concerns over possible dangers from radio frequency emissions, Chief Minister Tony Brown has announced a working party would be set up, under the Director of Public Health.
