Tynwald Honour confirmed

Manx painter Norman Sayle will receive the first Tynwald Honour.

The award, a sterling silver medal, was proposed by the Tynwald Honours Committee and approved in July 2005.

It recognises individuals who have made 'an outstanding, sacrificial and long term contribution to Manx Life', and is the highest honour the court can bestow.

The motion, moved by Chairman of the Tynwald Honours Committee and Speaker of the House of Keys, Steve Rodan (pictured), was unanimously approved in the court this morning:
