Lieutenant of the Victorian Order

An Island resident made a Lieutenant of the Victorian Order in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, says he's delighted to have been recognised.

Christopher Tummon has been Private Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor for the last nine years, and in that time has organised 14 royal visits.

People are appointed the LVO when they have performed a personal service for the Sovereign.

Mr Tummon, who retires in September, says it's a great honour:
