The Department of Home Affairs has released its figures for the TT and has praised the efforts of its staff over the period.

Collisions on the Mountain Road increased from 24 to 26, but the one-way traffic system led to a 30% reduction in the number resulting in serious injury.

Reported crimes were up on last year, from 138 to 159; there were 222 arrests, with 36 for drug offences; and two visitors were given custodial sentencesl at the Isle of Man Prison during the fortnight.

Most of the arrests were for public order offences such as drunkenness, with just one serious assault happening during the festival.

Home Affairs Minister, Martyn Quayle (pictured) says all divisions of the department gave professional and committed support to the TT and he is grateful for the efforts of all employees and volunteers who contributed to the overall success of the centenery festival.
