New vicar at St German's

St German's Cathedral in Peel has a new vicar.

The Reverend Nigel Godfrey will take up the position in the Autumn.

He will be inducted as Vicar and Sub-Dean of the Cathedral Church in a service there on September 14.

Reverend Godfrey (pictured) is a Manxman, and is currently Principal of the Southwark Ordained Ministry Training Course and a Chaplain at Southwark Cathedral.

His development work as Vicar of Christ Church, Brixton, was described by the Church Times as 'one of the most extraordinary success stories in the established church'.

Before his ordination he worked as a Planning Officer for Nottingham County Council.
