Energy comparison

by isleofman.com 16th June 2007
Two days after the chairman of the Manx Electricity Authority defended its prices, two UK energy suppliers have cut their prices.

On Wednesday, Eddie Teare said figures used in a report showing the MEA is the dearest in the British Isles were out of date.

The snapshot taken in 2006 showed the MEA topping a list of electricity charges – but since then Mr Teare says other companies have put their prices up.

Today, Scottish Power has announced a cut in domestic gas charges and electricity bills by 16.5 per cent and 5.5 per cent respectively.

In addition, EDF Energy has trimmed its gas bills by more than 10 per cent.
