Artist in line for top award

Award-winning Island artist Norman Sayle is set to become the first recipient of the highest award that can be bestowed on an individual by Tynwald Court.

He is being recommended for the Tynwald Honour, which aims to reward people who have made an outstanding contribution to one or more areas of Manx life over a significant period of time.

Subject to approval by the Court next week, the sterling silver medal will be presented to Mr Sayle on Tynwald Day.

Manx Radio's Senior Political Correspondent, David Callister, spoke about the Tynwald Honour on Mandate this morning (audio file attached):
