Pharmacy donates to helicopter fund

by isleofman.com 6th June 2007
Hemensley's Pharmacy in Douglas is raising money for a local cause by donating all prescription fees for the TT fortnight.

The John Hemensley Memorial Fund, in memory of the business' late owner, will pass on the money through the Rob Vine Fund, which helps to provide equipment for the TT rescue helicopters.

John's son Ian feels it's a fitting thing to do as his dad was involved with the event for a number of years, as a marshal, a contributing photographer for Isle of Man Newspapers and with the emergency pharmacy for visiting bikers.

Ian hopes to raise around ?500 from the fees, with an in-store collection and donations hopefully pushing the figure up to about ?1000.
