by isleofman.com 2nd June 2007
Former Isle of Man Chief Constable Robin Oake will take the traditional Mad Sunday open air service, at the TT Grandstand this morning (Sunday).

He will be preaching from the winner's rostrum from half past nine.

The service is in its 21st year and was started by Mr Oake (pictured) during his time as head of the Island's police force.

He said it all began after a suggestion from Daily Telegraph journalist GeorgeTurnbull (audio file attached):

The Mad Sunday Bikers' Service will be held in Sulby later this morning.

It will be at the Methodist Church, at the crossroads on Sulby Straight, at 11am.

The preacher will be John Kennaugh.
