All systems go for Peel Bay Festival!

Thousands of rock fans heading into Peel this afternoon for the first night of the Peel Bay Festival are being urged to use the official car parks.

It's understood 6,000 tickets have been sold for The Who's opening gig - all the VIP seats have sold-out but other tickets ARE still available - from tickets offices at the site and on Douglas Promenade.

Organisers say a huge operation to control traffic and parking is in place.

Event manager John Shakespeare says it should run smoothly - providing concert-goers follow directions (audio file attached):
